Most certainly not an apology

One thing I love about the left, the "liberals" if you will, is how open minded they are, how accepting of differing viewpoints and understanding of cultural differences. I also believe in the tooth fairy and would love to buy your bridge in Florida. The problem is that I've found more mutual understanding and respect for difference of opinion and belief--including what it means to be a man--hanging out with conservative religious types than I've ever encountered around so-called progressive-minded liberal people.

Over the course of my life I have had such high hopes for the left and left-centrist movements in the country, and nearly every time I've been disappointed. Looking back on 30 years of American liberalism and liberal philosophy I see, crowding out a few shining moments, a morally decrepit ethos based on need and self-loathing that seems to be aimed at destroying me.

I've often been told about the immense privilege I enjoy as a white American man. Seriously? I have worked damned hard to get where I am and the fact that I have something to show for it is not privilege but accomplishment. Perhaps the fact that the left in this country is founded on a philosophy glorifying need and not value has something to do with the fact that the whiny losers who don't have anything to show for their irrationality and laziness ... have nothing to show for their irrationality and laziness.

These are the people in control. They're the people who want you to feel terrible for your greatest achievements and potential. They've already castrated the American male, as you can see from a casual glance at our TV programming (there's a reason they're called "programs"...). Men have become fawning, spineless, sensitive wankers who are more concerned about everyone's feelings and not offending anyone, rather than titanic heroes capable of altering their environments by the capacity of their reason and the strength of their arms. Hell, even our heavy metal music has become infected--just look at all the pathetic garbage about feelings and relationships splattering out of lifted Dodge truck sound systems nowadays. Metal has become Barry Manilow covers set to power chords.
